My name is Isa, I am 29 years old and I live in Berlin (although right now I am spending some time in Spain again). I was born here, but I moved to Spain (Zamora) with my parents when I was 10 years old.
I am a Ph.D. student (Economics and Business) at the Spanish National Distance Education University (UNED). My line of research is “innovation, internationalization and governance”, topic: synergy between internationalization and co-innovation.
Besides, since June 2017 I am Country Manager Spain & Portugal at SAP University Alliances & Next-Gen. My role here is to enlarge our university community in these two countries and set-up Innovation Labs in collaboration with our universities/schools where we can work on exciting co-innovation projects with students, customers and partners.
Before that, I worked almost two years as a project manager in the Customer Co-innovation Office of the LoB Finance at the SAP Innovation Center Potsdam. My responsibility in the team was, on the one hand, to track the implementation projects of our important customers and manage escalations, and on the other hand, to define the Go-to-Market strategy of our SAP Cloud Platform & Machine Learning solutions in collaboration with our sales and marketing colleagues.
Between October 2013 and August 2015 I took part in the public internationalization program offered by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment (Beca de internacionalización ICEX). This scholarship consisted of a MBA in international business + an internship at the Economic and Commercial Office (Ofecomes) of the Spanish Embassy in Berlin (in my case). My role at the Ofecomes was to support Spanish enterprises during their internationalization phase in Germany and also elaborate market researches, reports and other commercial documents.
Before moving back to Berlin, I had the great opportunity to spend almost 3 years working as an international business development manager at a small engineering company in close collaboration with the General Manager, from who I could learn a lot. Here I was responsible for market research, business plan, product marketing, financing and funding, investment partners and much more. At that time I found my great passion for international business 🙂 and I successfully completed my first master in international business.
In February 2012 I handed in my bachelor thesis – “The influence of motivation in simultaneous interpreting: reality vs. quality” – at the University of Salamanca. During my bachelor studies I also gained my first professional experience as import/export manager at a small horse-riding-sport wholesaler.
I love to spend my free time with my wonderful horses or training for our amateur salsa performances. I also like to explore new places and cultures, enjoy a refreshing rosé with my friends or just chill on the sofa with a good book in my hands on a rainy day.
